The small, dark space filled with bar tables and posters of sumo stars point to an unpretentious dining experience rather than the boom-boom-boom Asian fusion lounges with nary a real Japanese chef. By contrast, Musashi only plays music from a cassette player, but its sushi chefs do hail from the native country.
All the better to focus on the food—incredibly fresh fish, tasty makis rolled to perfection, and the rice equal measures sweet, sticky and vinegary. Choose from a small but choice menu of essentials—miso soup, edamame, unagi inside-out rolls and chilled Asahi beer.
